That’s a Wrap: Learning to Linger with God

Exodus 33:7-11

1. A Special Relationship With God - Takes Time - Moses had a special relationship with God, but this special relationship took time. In a fast food, face paced world in which we live, must learn the art of lingering in God’s presence, desiring God and the things of God so that we can develop and cultivate a special relationship with God.

2. A Special Relationship with God Takes Desire - Moses wanted to know God and see His glory. Joshua did not want to leave God’s presence as he lingered in the tent of meeting. If we are to have a special relationship with God we must learn to ask God and give us a desire, strengthen us for the investment of time, and ask him to grow both our faith and faithfulness. When we have a special relationship, blessings and benefits will follow.

3. God Will Speak to You - He speaks through His Word, His Spirit, His servants, and His creation. We must be willing to listen. When we do we will find he will communicate constantly and He will communicate with us like a friend talking to a friend. We must learn to linger in His Word, and with His people.

4. God Will Answer Your Prayers - while God hears and answers if we are in a right relationship with Him. Moses was granted special privileges because of His relationship and because He was willing to ask.

5. God’s Presence Will Go with You - God has promised to go with You through the person of the Holy Spirit if we belong to Him, but like Moses we must learn want to be with God and have his presence evident in our lives.

6. God’s Glory and Power will be Revealed in You - When we have God’s presence evident in our lives the we will also benefit from the demonstration of His glory and power in our lives.
